Jenna's reflections on her life:
My relationship with Jesus began when I was a freshman in high school. I knew there was always something missing in my life that couldn't be filled in any other way besides Jesus. Once I experienced the presence and love of Jesus there was no going back! I was determined to follow and serve Jesus for the rest of my life. Even after making the decision to follow Jesus, there were many obstacles to overcome- most of which were rooted in my insecurities. I've had to fight hopelessness during a traumatic miscarriage and have learned that Jesus truly is the greatest hope we have. Daily I am grateful for the life Jesus has given me and the grace he extends to me.
Kyle's reflections on his life:
My saga starts out sad, but gets better and better through every phase of life! I grew up in a broken home with no dad and a struggling single mom. I remember at age 15 thinking that there was no one on earth who truly cared whether I was alive or dead. This led to deep depression and hatred which led to doing and taking whatever I could to feel better. That changed in one night at age 17 when I encountered the real and powerful Love of Jesus as I was in my bed crying out at 3am for a relationship with God. Without any special prayer I went from drug use, suicidal thoughts, cutting, using people and having murderous dreams about my mom to barging into her room at 3:30 in the morning to forgive her and to let her know that I loved her. Color and light came into my life that night and even though I've tried to turn away from Jesus, and even to old, dangerous ways of coping, He has never left me or given up on me. Even when intense pain and fear try to turn everything grey and black, His Love has sustained the color and light that give my life joy, peace, love and purpose.
