Change can be scary

One of the scariest things about change is the chaos that happens along the way. Like starting a remodel or building a new home, things always look worse before they get better.

This photo comes from a property they are building in my neighborhood. Specifically you are seeing what will one day be a beautiful kitchen with a large serving island in the middle. Right now it looks like the aftermath of a tornado.

Going through the process of a change can be a little scary and disorienting. If you’re building a house, the key is to trust the builder. They have the plans and the skills to bring them into reality.
As a believer in Jesus, it is also best to put your trust in Him as the master builder of your life. If you spend every day judging the progress, worrying about the seeming chaos that comes in the build out phase, or stressing on whether or not all the supplies will show up… You will live in constant anxiety.

Trust is key.

Besides the chaos there is the question of supplies. This photo of the kitchen does not include the granite countertops or the cupboards. You don’t see a sink or a dishwasher. There is no tile for the floors. What’s happening?!? Has tge builder failed to understand what’s needed to complete This new project? Of course not. The builder will bring the right supplies on site when they are needed. It is the same for your life. God has not forgotten anything needed to develop you or care for you. But He brings all of His supplies on site as He needs them. There is no need for you to stress or worry about whether or not they will arrive. He’s the master builder who knows the timing perfectly.

Trust is key.

Whatever’s going on in your life God is faithful. He counted the cost before he started the build and He will be faithful to complete what he starts.

Trust is key.

When you trust Him you can enjoy the process of what He is building and the exciting anticipation of the beautiful plan He has for your life.

Without trust the journey becomes a series of worries and anxieties. It doesn’t have to be that way, God never intended it to be a stressful process.

Today He invites you to trust Him. Rest in His knowledge and skill as the master builder of your life. Enjoy the process and allow yourself the freedom to be amazed at the work of the Carpenter.

Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding”

Philippians 1:6
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

One of the best ways God has given us to keep ourselves in a position of trust is to surround ourselves with a community of faith. We invite you to join us at The Beat Church for one of our Sunday services or our weekly small groups.
